David Nilssen cofounded and launched Guidant Financial in 2003 with $10,000 and a laptop. To date, he and his 110 employees, have helped 15,000 entrepreneurs, from all 50 states, to secure 4 billion dollars to start or buy a business. In 2016, they helped American entrepreneurs secure $400,000,000.
In 2007, the Small Business Administration (SBA) named him the National Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the Puget Sound Business Journal named him one of the Top 40 Businesspeople Under 40. His company – Guidant Financial – has been named to the Inc. 500/5000 list 6 times and is a 5-time “Best Places to Work” honoree.
He is an active investor who has provided funding to companies in neuropharma, online travel, personal financial management, online trading, gaming, medical billing, technology, online retail, and more.
Today, he is on the board of E2 Educational Services which provides leadership development opportunities to young leaders in emerging countries. He also serves on the board of Archbright (formerly Washington Employers, which is focused on helping its employer-members elevate their workplace performance through HR and legal support. Nilssen directs Global Events for the Entrepreneurs Organization – which provides opportunities and once-in- a-lifetime experiences for its 13,000+ entrepreneur-members.
David and his wife are wine snobs, travel addicts and Seahawks fanatics. They currently live in Kirkland, WA with their daughter Lucy.
