SVP of Human Resources, Boston Red Sox
Amy Waryas was named Senior Vice President, Human Resources of The Boston Red Sox in 2015. Since joining the Red Sox in 2011, she has been responsible for leading organizational and culture development, recruiting, compensation, benefits, diversity, employee relations, and training for the Red Sox and Fenway Sports Management.
Waryas began her career with General Electric as a recruiter and trainer, and has since worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, publishing, and software. She has worked with companies of varying sizes, from Fortune 10 to a software start-up, where she built the HR department from the ground up.
Prior to joining the Red Sox, Waryas served as Director of Human Resources for The Boston Beer Company, Inc., maker of Samuel Adams beers, where she led the human resources department and was a key member of the executive management team. In that role, Waryas focused heavily on creating strong organizational development programs and enhancing the company’s culture.
Waryas also serves on the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UNC-Charlotte. A native of the Boston area, she grew up in Sudbury, MA. She and her husband, Keith, reside in Holliston, MA with their two children.
